Visa to Syria

Following the recent change in government and shift in regional alliances, the aviation landscape in Syria has rapidly evolved, with major regional carriers returning to Syrian airspace. Most international travelers flying into Syria currently connect through major hubs in the UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Turkey.

Note: All direct flights to Tehran have been indefinitely suspended, and Iranian carriers are no longer operating scheduled commercial flights into Syrian airports.

Damascus International Airport (DAM)

The primary aviation hub for the country, located about 30 minutes southeast of the capital. The main airlines operating scheduled flights here include:

• Qatar Airways: Operating direct flights connecting Damascus with Doha.
• Royal Jordanian: Operating frequent flights connecting Damascus with Amman.
• Air Arabia & Flydubai: Operating flights connecting Damascus with Sharjah and Dubai in the UAE.
• Saudia & Flyadeal: Connecting Damascus with destinations in Saudi Arabia.
• Cham Wings Airlines & Syrian Air: The local carriers operating robust networks connecting Damascus with regional hubs including Kuwait, Baghdad, and Erbil.
• Fly Baghdad: Operates seasonal and scheduled flights connecting Iraqi cities to Damascus.

Aleppo International Airport (ALP)

Serving the northern region, Aleppo's airport has seen a major revitalization and is an excellent entry point if your itinerary focuses on northern and central Syria.

• Turkish Airlines & AnadoluJet (AJet): Operating frequent, direct routes between Istanbul and Aleppo.
• Royal Jordanian: Connecting Aleppo directly with Amman.
• Flyadeal: Operating direct flights between Aleppo and Medina.
• Flydubai: Connecting Aleppo with the UAE (Sharjah/Dubai).
• Pegasus Airlines & Jazeera Airways: Connecting Aleppo with Turkey and Kuwait.
